A New Praise

January 19, 2025 Vol. 1 Issue 3

Psalm 40:3  “And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord...” (KJV)

Praise Definition: express respect and gratitude toward, to rave about, to commend, to speak well of. ----- “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:6 (KJV)

Are you patiently and expectantly waiting for the Lord concerning your situation?

Situation: David writes a Psalm of Praise unto the Lord.  He had cried out to the Lord and he waited patiently with expectation that God would hear and answer his prayer concerning the trouble that he was facing.  And God heard him and delivered him from his trouble.  And gave him a firm foundation to stand on.  And God touched his mouth and gave him a new song.

Observation:  David had a problem, but he knew where to go for help.  So, he cried out to God, he told him all about his problem.  David didn’t get stuck in what he was going through, but he looked up to God for help Psalm 121.  The key to getting to the place where God can give you a new song in your mouth is putting your trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Inspiration:  Have you been singing the same broken record about your life.  Are you stuck with saying what will never be, what you can’t do, what you can’t stop. Are you overwhelmed with trouble that seems like it will never get better?  Maybe you have a foreclosure notice, or your car is about to be reprocessed.  Maybe you have trouble on your job or in your home.  And the only song that seems to come to mind is, “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve seen, nobody knows my sorrow.”  Be encouraged. God hears your cry, and he will answer and give you a new song, “Trouble don't last always,” & “I am redeemed bought with a price, Jesus has changed my whole life.

Application:  Before you can do this part of singing a new song you must follow the plan of salvation.  If you have not committed yourself to God.  You need to acknowledge in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Is Lord.    Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised on the third day.  Repent of your sins and get baptized.  It is important to have RIGHT relationship with God.  Then you must seek after him and he will hear and answer your prayers.  And give you a new song and a praise.

For those already committed to God.  Hold on to Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” And God will hear your cry and he will pity your every grown, and he will touch your mouth and give you a new song of praise.
